When receiving royalty, it is important for one to be ready and to look one's best.
Unfortunately for All Blacks including Ma'a Nonu, an impromptu changing room visit by Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, left little time for formalities.
The visit was made after the All Blacks' match against Wales at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, yesterday morning (NZT).
Some of the team didn't have time to get dressed before meeting Prince William - Nonu and Beauden Barrett both shook his hand shirtless, while captain Richie McCaw was in a towel.
Earlier, Dan Carter met the Duke and his wife Catherine. However, for a sportsman and model used to the flash, the injured first five-eighths was surprisingly shy in front of the couple.
"Can't believe I was too chicken to ask for a photo with these two. Such humble royalty," Carter tweeted.
The moment was instead snapped by a photographer from Getty Images.
The royal couple are patrons of the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, which supports athletes who were injured as team members.
