Emergency services are rushing to the scene of a car crash in Te Puke where one person is trapped.

Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion said one person was trapped in the vehicle.

The accident took place at the intersection of Queen St and Beatty Ave about 11.10am.

This follows an earlier serious crash where the driver of a car was trapped for about 40 minutes after a crash on State Highway 2 near Te Puke Quarry Rd. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
