A 70-year-old Christchurch man appeared in court today on three charges of indecently assaulting children.
The elderly man was granted interim name suppression by a judge who wanted to protect the alleged victims.
The man faces three charges of indecently assaulting two children between November 1 last year and November 1 this year. He also faces one charge of sexually violating a woman.
At a Christchurch District Court session at Rangiora courthouse today, he was remanded on bail.
Police did not oppose bail on the conditions that he reside at an address in Christchurch, not to associate with his three alleged victims, or with any child under the age of 12, not to enter certain areas of the city, and to surrender his passport.
