Richie McCow has retired from his pundit career - after picking the All Blacks to win the Rugby World Cup.

The young bull's owner, Kyle Underwood, said he had enjoyed the ride and was amazed by how famous Richie became overnight.

"The most memorable moment would have been having the world media pick up on Richie - that was pretty mind-blowing," he said.

He had heard that his animal had been featured on US television.

Richie, who had a hit-rate of 60 per cent for his match predictions, has been put "back in the field with his brothers and sisters".

He will become a steer for a few years before he is sent off to the meatworks.
