Police say the death of a man whose body washed up on an eastern Bay of Plenty beach will be referred to the coroner.
The Area Commander for Eastern Bay of Plenty Police, Inspector Sandra Venables, said the body of a man, thought to be a Whakatane 30-year-old, was found at Westend Beach Ohope yesterday.
She says he's not able to be named at this stage and the death is not suspicious.
