Police are searching for a man who has two missing teeth after a woman was sexually assaulted while walking home in Palmerston North early on Sunday morning.
The woman, in her mid 20s, was returning home after walking a friend to a house in the central city when she was
grabbed from behind on Ward Street about 3.45am, Acting Detective Sergeant Shelley Ross said.
Her assailant then ripped her clothing and sexually assaulted her, Ms Ross said.
The woman managed to break free and escape after kicking her attacker in the groin.
The man has been described as Maori of medium build, with short black hair and unshaven. He also had two teeth missing.
