Waikato police have arrested a 22-year-old Te Awamutu man after an assault on a police officer last Thursday when the officer tried to arrest a man he caught breaking into a car.
The man fled but was found yesterday by the armed offenders squad in Te Awamutu and will appear in the Hamilton District Court today on a number of charges.
