Christchurch earthquake relief concert cancelled

An Auckland concert to raise money for victims of the Christchurch earthquake has been cancelled after slow ticket sales.

Due to be held this Friday at the ASB Showgrounds, more than 100 acts were scheduled for the all-ages concert.

Organisers said the concert would have cost about $200,000 and they would have risked making a large loss.

"We decided this was not responsible way to approach fundraising efforts," organisers said.
