People who have a car stuck in the cordoned area of the Christchurch central business district can now register it with police.
Yesterday, 363 vehicles were returned to owners, and 79 further owners made arrangements for collection.
On Saturday police said there were up to 4000 cars in the cordoned off area in the city's CBD.
Once owners had registered their vehicle with police and the car was ready for collection the Police Vehicle Recovery Team would contact the owner.
People can register their vehicle on www.police.govt.nz or by calling 0800 311 311.
