Two makes of boat which have the potential to explode causing serious injury or death are being urgently recalled.
Marine Power International said today it was recalling some Savage and Bermuda boats which may have been fitted with incorrectly rated fuel hoses that could degrade under some conditions.
"If that happened fuel could leak into the bilge creating a risk of fire or explosion that could lead to severe injury or death." it said in a statement.
The affected boats are:
* Savage forward steer aluminium or fibreglass boats with an underfloor tank manufactured between January 2005 and December 2007; and
* Bermuda forward steer aluminium boats with an underfloor tank manufactured between January 2005 and December 2007.
Marine Power said owners of the boats should discontinue use immediately and contact their nearest dealer.
