Police have named the man and woman found dead at a house in Christchurch yesterday.
They were Tala Seleni, 55, and Melissa Nina Adcock, 32.
The pair were found at a house on Olliviers Road in Suburban Linwood by a concerned neighbour about 5.30pm.
Post-mortem examinations were completed today and established "both persons died as a result of injuries they had sustained," Acting Detective Inspector Dave Long said.
He would not comment on the nature of the injuries.
Mr Long said information from relatives and neighbours had been helpful to the investigation and police believed no one else was involved.
