Police are still investigating a crash on Anzac Day which killed a 53-year-old Bay of Islands motorcyclist.
The crash occurred on Kapiro Rd, 7km north of Kerikeri, about 3.35pm.
Sergeant Ross Laurie, of Kerikeri police, said the rider was heading west on Kapiro Rd when his Harley Davidson and a car turning into a driveway from the opposite direction collided.
The motorcycle rider, who was from the Purerua area north of Kerikeri, died at the scene. Police were continuing to investigate the circumstances around the crash.
The man's name would not be released until all next of kin had been contacted.
Kapiro Rd was closed between Equestrian Drive and Redcliffs Rd while an expert from the police Serious Crash Unit examined the scene.
St John Ambulance and two crews from the Kerikeri Fire Brigade also attended.
