A rescue helicopter has been sent to the MVA Rally in Whangarei following an incident at the event this morning.
St John's said they received a call around 11.30am but could not provide any further detail.
Rally spokesman Lance Hastie said the helicopter had been sent as a precaution but could be stood down.
"There has been an incident we're aware of, I wouldn't call it a crash," he said.
The incident involved a rally driver.
"We don't specific details. I haven't been informed there is a crash."
Fire services said they attended the incident but had now left the scene after being told to stand down by ambulance.
