SYDNEY - Kiwi gelding Holmes DG won the Miracle Mile in stunning fashion last night.
The defending champion led from start to finish to win by a nose from Atitagain with Tailamade Lombo third.
Holmes DG was a controversial inclusion in the six horse field a week ago after two unplaced runs in last week's New Zealand Cup carnival.
Trainer-driver Barry Purdon says he has had his knockers, but the win shows how tough he is.
