When Whanganui musician Karl Thomas aka K-Dread wanted beauty and star power for his latest music video he turned to a current TV star.
He contacted The Bachelor NZ's runner-up Naz Khanjani who quickly agreed to star in the video which was shot in various locations around Whanganui last weekend.
The video accompanies Thomas' second single Jah Truly Bless, a duet with Whanganui's Sienna Templeton who is now based in Australia.
"I wanted to showcase Whanganui and its beautiful locations and attractions," Thomas said.
"I wanted to capture scenes that represent the everyday life of Whanganui residents, filming in locations such as Virginia Lake, Castlecliff Beach, Durie Hill and the Bason Botanic Gardens."
Khanjani and Thomas play a couple in the video and he said it was great having her here for the weekend.
She liked the song and saw it as an opportunity to try something new, he said.
"She made an impression on the Whanganui students she did meet," Thomas said. "She was very friendly and appreciative of the support shown by her fans."
Khanjani said her weekend in Whanganui had been a success and was looking forward to returning one day.
"A big thanks to the ladies at Ucol for doing my hair and make-up for the filming. Their work is absolute perfection. I can't wait until the video is released."
Jah Truly Bless is available on iTunes now with the video due to be released on YouTube in late July.
