Hawke's Bay has plenty of activities and events for people of all ages to enjoy. We list seven of the best on offer this weekend.
1. Las Vegas Casino Evening
If you're in for a night of fun for a good cause, this is the event for you. The Taradale Lions Club is holding a Las Vegas Entertainment Casino Evening to raise funds to buy a "cuddle cot'' for the Maternity Services Unit at Hawke's Bay Hospital. The cot is internationally recognised for helping parents grieve the loss of a baby and effectively works as a cooling unit to allow families extra time with their child. Today, Taradale RSA, 7.30pm to 10.30pm, R18. Tickets can be bought at Eventing for $30.
2. Mountain Film Festival
In this national tour an outstanding collection of unique adventure films from throughout the world, featuring Kiwis and other adventurers pushing their limits, will be shown. Give Me Five, Into Twin Galaxies, Link Sara West and Mountains of Heaven are just some of the films that will be screened, showing off nature at its best. Tonight, Tabard Theatre, Coronation St, Ahuriri, 7pm to 9.30pm. Tickets cost $20.
3. Sacred Hill Half Marathon
Whether you're competing or watching, this is an off-road event not to miss. The Sacred Hill Winery course takes trail runners through the vines before heading across the farm and into the forest. As part five of six in the Hawke's Bay Trail Running Series, the event suits all abilities and the scenic course has plenty to enjoy for those who opt to cheer from the sidelines. Today - competitors will begin the race at 9am at Sacred Hill's Rifleman Vineyard. Note: no on-the-day entries.

Local school bands are getting together to play music and showcase the next generation of jazz. Napier Boys' High School, Karamu High School, St John's College and Taradale High School will be playing, followed by a massed band to end the night with a bit of fun. A great night for discovering local, raw talent, the event is open to all ages.
