The owner of a petrol station at the centre of an aggravated robbery has described the event as "disturbing" after a gun was pointed at an attendant.
The Gull service station on Omahu Rd was the target of an aggravated robbery at about 1.30am yesterday after a man with a firearm demanded cash and tobacco from the station's attendant.
The owner of the petrol station, who wished to remain unnamed, commended the attendant's conduct during the robbery.
"It was rather disturbing, as you can imagine having a gun pointed at you [would be]. They dealt with it maturely and safely which was awesome."
Yesterday the Hastings police issued an official statement appealing to any witnesses that may have seen the aggravated robbery.
