The mist lingered this morning as about 150 people gathered at St Stephen's Church in the rural settlement of Elsthorpe in Central Hawke's Bay to commemorate Anzac Day.
Colonel Andrew Renton-Green led the proceedings that included an Anzac address by CHB mayor Alex Walker, who also played The Last Post on the bugle.
Children from Elsthorpe School also took part, reading short messages before those gathered headed to the hall for refreshments.
