Cold starts and wild winds are on the way for the Bay this week, as a strong south westerly front hovers over the region.
MetService meteorologist Rob Kerr said things should ease off today but the southwest flow will persist, reinvigorating the strong southerlies and bringing showers later this evening.
Mr Kerr said there will be frosty starts throughout the week and temperatures will again struggle to get out of the low teens.
"Snow down to 600m could cause disruption on the Napier Taupo Rd," Mr Kerr said.
The high today will be 14C with a chilly 4C start to Tuesday morning.
