Give the painter a brush and he'll do the job - tell him to organise the exhibition and he'll suggest find someone else.
And according to painter Dick Frizzell they didn't do a bad job of it when they organised a show of almost 40 years of his work.
It was included in three parallel exhibitions that opened at MTG Hawke's Bay in Napier last night.
"I'm more than delightfully surprised," he said as about 100 guests hung on every one of a short number of words from a man who professed more than modestly he's not a speechmaker.
"I'm completely blown away, to be honest."
