Spring and the first month of summer are set to be warmer than average for Hawke's Bay, while rainfall, river flows and soil moisture levels remain normal.
The outlook by the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (Niwa) shows temperatures have a 50 per cent chance of being above average for October, November and December in Hawke's Bay, Gisborne and Wairarapa.
Rainfall totals have a 45 per cent chance to be near normal ranges, while soil moisture has a 40 per cent chance and river flows have a 45 per cent chance to be near normal levels.
Federated Farmers' Hawke's Bay provincial president Will Foley said warmer temperatures would be welcomed by farmers as long as normal rainfall continued.
"As long as we get the moisture, it will be a good thing. It will help farmers with stock conditions and growth rates.
"The only negative is if we don't get the rainfall."
He said most farmers were having a brilliant season because of good rainfall and moisture levels.
The Niwa outlook said temperatures over the October to December period as a whole have a 50 per cent chance of being above average in the east of the North Island and the north of the South Island.
In all other regions, average or above average temperatures have a near equal likelihood of occurring.
The chances of below normal temperatures across all regions is 10-20 per cent.
