Kelly Clarkson's mother isn't upset about not being invited to her daughter's wedding.
The 31-year-old singer tied the knot with music manager Brandon Blackstock - whom she has been dating since February 2012 - in an intimate ceremony at the Blackberry Farm resort in Walland, Tennessee, on the weekend, where the only guests were Brandon's children, Savannah, 12, and Seth, six, from his first marriage.
But her mother Jeanne Taylor insists Clarkson' family were "fine" about being left off the guest list.
She told Celebuzz.com: "[Kelly] was so afraid we might be upset. But we were fine with it. I had known that she was under a lot of stress. And we just wanted her to be happy and not stressed out. I think the biggest thing for us to do was to allow her to do what she wanted to do."
The Stronger hitmaker, who has an older brother, Jason, and older sister, Alyssa, had previously envisioned a big wedding with all of her friends and family in attendance, but nixed those plans after becoming overwhelmed by her busy schedule.
Jeanne added: "She said they were just so overwhelmed with the tour and they just decided to elope. But she didn't want to hurt our feelings. She has had a lot on her plate and I've seen her schedule for the next month and Christmas."
