Burton appers to have maintained fitness in his bid to extend his winning record in the $30,000 White Robe Lodge Handicap at Wingatui tomorrow.
The winner of five of his six starts this season, including the Hazlett Stakes (1400m) at Wingatui last Saturday, Burton sprinted boldly in training yesterday in the hands of co-trainer Shane Anderton.
Burton is not liable for a re-handicap for his Hazlett win and he has the same weight, 54kg, tomorrow.
The Anderton stable has three runners in the race with All Chance and Anquila the other two. All Chance was a creditable seventh in the Hazlett.
Burton is having his first start over 1600m since he finished fourth over that distance at Wingatui in April. All Chance has four wins at the distance.
