Rainbow's End has appointed Karen Crabb as its new chief executive.
Crabb, who is currently retail director of beverage company Lion, will take on the role of chief executive from February 12 next year.
"I am thrilled to be joining such an iconic New Zealand attraction," Crabb said.
"Rainbow's End is a special part of Auckland and I am excited to be working with a company that is committed to the community."
The board of Rainbow's End said it was delighted with the appointment and was looking forward to working with Crabb.
"I am looking forward to working with the team to continue evolving their strategy and plans. Continuing to deliver a fantastic customer experience will be a core focus for the team, along with continued capital investment to ensure the park is modern and relevant for guests," Crabb said.
The theme park is a subsidiary of Rangatira Limited, a Wellington-based investment company.
Crabb has been working at Lion for more than 15 years.
She said her experience in sales, marketing, culture and the broader understanding of running a retail chain would align well with the new role.
Former chief executive Chris Deere resigned in August after 10 years in the role and working for the company for over 15 years.
Rainbow's End began operating in 1982 and employs close to 300 staff.
