Car crashes into building in Tauranga

A car has crashed into a building on a busy Tauranga street.

A police media spokesperson said a vehicle had crashed into a building on Birch Ave, Judea and emergency services were concerned about an exposed gas pipe.

The car had collided with three other vehicles on Birch Ave.

Fire services had been able to shut off the gas, she said.

Fire services were extracting a person out of the car.

This is one of a spate of crashes in the Western Bay today.
