A shelter belt fire has been brought under control in Te Puke.

Fire communications shift manager Daniel Nicholson said two Te Puke fire trucks were currently fighting the fire on Lowry Rd.

He said the shelter belt was about 40m long alongside a driveway and the fire had been brought under control.

The fire service got the call about the fire just after 10.30am.
