Public meeting to address Tauranga's housing crisis

Four senior Labour MPs will be in Tauranga today to address the city's housing crisis.

Housing spokesman Phil Twyford, plus David Parker, Nanaia Mahuta and Rino Tirikatene are holding a public meeting at the Wesley Centre on 13th Ave at 11am.

The MPs are keen for anyone with housing concerns in Tauranga to come along and talk about how they are affected and possible solutions.

"Labour is very concerned about the housing situation in Tauranga with the cost of housing continuing to rise, increasing homelessness and the imminent sale of Tauranga's state houses,'' a spokesperson for Phil Twyford said.

''We would like to encourage the people of Tauranga to come along and have their say on this very important issue.''

The MPs will also visiting Seeka and David Parker, spokesman for environment, water, regulatory reform, state owned enterprises, ICT, and entrepreneurship, will visit the Tauriko Business Estate.
