Two Bay fashionistas have been named in the annual New Zealand Woman's Weekly best- dressed list.
Simon Bridges, National MP for Tauranga, was among the best dressed men with Janika ter Ellen being named as Supreme Best Dressed Woman.
David Hartnell, who compiled the magazine's list, said the shortlist was formed after assessing different personalities seen on television.
"Janika is pretty, obviously if you watch The Paul Henry Show, every night she is in something very well cut and very well styled. She reminds me of Hollywood glamour, her hair styles, her make up and her clothing are all one package."
Mr Hartnell said Simon Bridges was selected as one of the best dressed males for his "award-winning style" as one of the best dressed male parliamentarians.
"Every time I see him in print or the television, he seems to look after and take care of what he is wearing.
"Very clean, sharp and neat, the fashion that he is representing."
Throughout the year Mr Hartnell keeps a shortlist of potential fashionistas but the winners had to be consistent with their dress sense throughout the year, he said.
Janika ter Ellen, who was brought up in Tauranga, said although she did her shopping for clothes with a stylist, and spent an hour and 20 minutes in hair and makeup before each show, her clothes reflected her own style.
"Obviously for television it's a bit more dramatic and colourful, but I'm definitely quite interested in fashion."
Mr Bridges said all his fashion sense came from his wife Natalie's advice.
"She gets the credit when I look good and takes the blame when I don't."
