Wanganui axewomen Rochelle Molan and Jackie Brown have once again been selected for the New Zealand women's team to compete in a test series in Australia next year.
Molan has not long returned from shows in Adelaide and Sydney where she had mixed results, although she fell ill during the
Sydney leg and was hospitalised. In Adelaide, however, Molan successfully defended her women's single saw title she was won at least four times in recent years before illness destroyed any chance of success in Sydney.
Brown is also a regular on the Australian circuit with the New Zealand team and is currently in-form after winning the Jill singles title during show week in Christchurch last week. She was also runner-up in the Jill and Jill and placed in the underhand saw; a class she won at the Wanganui A&P Show at the weekend.
Molan did not compete in Christchurch or at her hometown A&P Show at the weekend as she continues to recover.
"We travel to Australia in March for a test series in Sydney and there is talk of a team from the United States competing, so we're hoping it will be a three-way test series. That hasn't happened in my time in the sport, but it would be neat if it did next year," Molan said.
