Rangitikei College had a fine win over Wanganui High School in the Years 9 and 10 division at Centennial Park in Marton last Wednesday.
Batting first, Rangitikei College made 139 in their allotted 20 overs. Top scorer on the day was Thomas Westwood who made 71, including nine fours andtwo sixes, carrying on from his last innings of 32 against Cullinane. Other double figure scores were Michael Thompson with 19 (three fours and a six) and Ricky Sewell making his top score of the year with 13, including a huge six over square leg.
Batting second, Wanganui High School finished with 116 runs of which Quinn Mailman made a dashing 68, including nine fours and two sixes. He was the last man out, well caught on the long on boundary by Rhys Watson, who also took four wickets for 28 runs.
The college team effort was improved over their previous games, with fielding getting better all the time.
The boys greatly appreciated Tomas Fowks' (filling in for coach Mike Maher) input into the coaching.
