Some of the yachts out in Auckland for the Australia/New Zealand O'pen Bic Yacht Winter Cup.
Whanganui junior sailors Caleb and Luke Squire placed sixth and ninth in the Silver Fleet event at the recent Australia/New Zealand O'pen Bic Yacht Winter Cup, held at Auckland's Manly Sailing Club.
O'pen Bic racing is done in single handed sailboats designed for younger sailors.
There were 15 competitors in
the Squire's event.
Special guest on the day was America's Cup winning skipper Russell Coutts, who along with other experts, tutored 32 youngsters in the art of sailing.
The Wanganui Sailing Club now owns half a dozen O'Pen Bic craft, which will be used this coming summer for their junior sailors.
