Pool play saw them beat Kapi Mana 28-12 and Wairarapa 33-13, with a 28-28 draw against Manawatu, then losses to eventual finalists Wellington Black 37-20 and narrowly to Hutt Valley 23-21.
In post section play, they beat Manawatu Development 24-17 to set up another meeting with Hutt Valley, where due to injuries among the back court defenders, Hutt Valley came through again 29-21.
The shooting combination of captain Imogen Flower (GA) and Montel Vaiao-Aki (GS) was outstanding with a collective 177 goals from 221 attempts, while at the other end, vice-captain Talitua Leo and Kristin Thompson switched between GK and GD and outclassed several opposing shooters.
Midcourt, WA Keilani Tyrell kept the ball flowing quick and was a steady influence for centre Kiana Millar and Sarah Gower-James, who were in their first season of A Grade representative level.
The Under-15 White team started well beating Coastlands Kapiti 28-13, with brilliant movement by GA Piper Neil and GS Maze Thompson - Koro in the goal circle, with Thompson-Koro having a good conversion rate.
Hutt Valley Development was tougher, leading Wanganui 8-6 at quarter time, but excellent feeding into the circle by centre Te Whetu Mathews and WA Katarina Rawiri let Thompson-Koro take his team to a 29-20 win.
The third game of Saturday saw Horowhenua hold off Wanganui 24-15.
Team newcomers Cori-Lee Herewini and Maggie O'Conner started the first half strongly, but Horowhenua made alterations and sent on players with more height at the attacking circle, forcing Wanganui to do the same with Mykayla Heka, moving back into WD and Kara Adrole coming back on in GK, while Thompson-Koro switched into GA with Leigha Stormont.
On Sunday, Wanganui White met pool leaders Hawke's Bay Development, where despite Adrole and GD Teagan Tapa causing havoc for the shooters, forcing turnovers and rebounds, the well-polished opposition pulled ahead to win 23-17.
In post section Wanganui had a rematch with Coastland Kapiti, who came out firing as they did not want to let Wanganui get away this time, but despite playing catch-up for three quarters, they did get home 21-15.
That put Wanganui against Marlborough for their last game, where the injury to Rawiri saw a variety of midcourt combinations tried, with Mathews moving from centre to WA and dictating play into the shooting circle with good flow alongside O'Conner and Heka.
Herewini, Adrole and Tapa defended well in the 25-15 win.
Thompson-Koro also received the U15 Fair Play Award. Wanganui Under-17 started their tournament with a 32-18 win over Kapi Mana, before running into the strong Wellington Gold side, losing 27-18. They rebounded to hold off Hawke's Bay 26-23, before losing the final pool match with Manawatu Development 28-21.
In post section, Wanganui lost to Kapiti 26-16, but finished with a flourish in their last playoff with Marlborough 37-16.
