Today's Porter Hire Twenty20 final will be a rematch of last summer's thriller, when Sportz Bar United 2nd XI take on defending champions Matt Burke Engineering Marton Saracens at Centennial Park.

The T20 competition is a combined grade between the Premier 1 and Premier 2 teams, played on the six weekends when the association's top players are away on Hawke Cup duty with the Active Physio Wanganui representative side.

Both Marton and United were unbeaten in their respective pools, although two of the five rounds had to be abandoned because of wet weather.

United won a razor-close opening match with Wanganui Old Boys, by one wicket off the second-to-last ball, then defeated Marist by four wickets and Active Physio Marton 2nd XI by seven wickets respectively.

Saracens beat St John's Tech on forfeit, then defeated Wanganui Collegiate 1st XI by five wickets and Wanganui Renegades by 99 runs.

Unsurprisingly, given their success it is the United and Saracens players who top the batting charts, with Marton's opening pair of Hamish Harding and Jason Harris leading the pack, followed by United's Zeb Small

In the bowling stakes, United's James Pennefather has been the best performer, while Karl Bremmer and Martin Pennefather are in the top five, as is Saracens spinner Bryant Galpin.

Last year's final at Centennial Park was a classic match, with Saracens winning by three wickets with a boundary off the last ball.

James Wilson came out to join Chris Rayner at 76-7 with 69 runs needed off 35 deliveries, then reached the boundary rope when three runs were needed off the final delivery.

United batsmen Stu Mosen, Brad Watson, Zeb Small and Alan Kenny all scored well that day, and will be looking to go just one ball better in today's match.

The final starts at 2pm.
