Steelform Wanganui prop Brett Turner passed the fitness test on his ribs and will take his place on the bench for the big Pink Batts Heartland Championship game with North Otago in Oamaru this afternoon.
Turner returns after being injured in the first half of opening game victory against Horowhenua-Kapition August 22.
The 22-year-old Tawhio Gupwell was bracketed to cover the reserve prop role again, right up until Thursday night.
Wanganui's 22-man line-up contains 12 members of the team who journeyed to Whitestone Contracting Stadium to lift the Lochore Cup trophy on October 26 last year.
North Otago's team has also been named and they have a very experienced forward pack. About nine of them were in the squad that contested the Lochore Cup final. The side will be captained up front by prop Ralph Darling, who has over 60 games for the province.
