It is on to the consolation series for all three Wanganui division 1 hockey teams in the Manawatu League this afternoon.
Both the men's and women's Tech College Old Boys teams finished the round-robin in the wooden spoon position, while Collegians were denied fourth place thanks to a narrow lossto the HSHC Rebels in somewhat controversial circumstances last Sunday, meaning the teams will enter the Bottom 3 section of the league with games for the next three weeks before the August 16-23 finals.
Collegians and the TCOB women meet in the Gonville Domain derby game today at 1.30pm, then next week Collegians have the bye while 'Techno' play the Rebels at Gonville.
That sets up a grudge game between Collegians and Rebels in Palmerston North on August 9.
In the men's grade, TCOB will play Palmerston North Boys High School today in Gonville at 3pm.
They have the bye next week, then meet MCOB at Gonville on August 9.
The best sides in the Bottom 3 competitions will go straight through to finals day on August 23, while the other two teams in each grade will play-off to join them there on August 16.
