As expected, Wanganui Collegiate's standout schoolboy player Stephen Perofeta has been named among the 53 players chosen for a development camp to pick the New Zealand Schools squad for their Australian tour this month.
First five and fullback Perofeta has made a lot of waves after his selection for theHurricanes Under-18 team, who hammered the Crusaders U-18s in Blenheim in July.
He also made his debut for the Steelform Wanganui team in the Pinks Batts Heartland Championship and scored tries in his appearances against Horowhenua-Kapiti and North Otago.
The camp starts tomorrow, with the NZ Schools and Barbarians squads announced on Monday.
Those teams will play each other in Palmerston North next Saturday, before the NZ Schools team departs for a three-game tour in the Brisbane area, beginning against Samoa Schools on September 24.
