There were several important events on the Wanganui East Petanque calendar in June.

On June 4-5, members attended the Masterton Midwinter Doubles were held at Clareville, Wairarapa, where getting to play two days indoors was a luxury in winter.

The plate was won by Christine Strichen and her partner, while the team of Leeanne Bird and Beryl Cowan were third, and Dene Futcher, Sheryl Parslow and Richard Turfrey all had a share of fifth.
