Castlecliff golfer Dennis Sharrock will have the hometown advantage when he lines up in the semifinals of the 61st New Zealand Senior Golf Association national tournament tomorrow.
However, Sharrock will need all of the good form he has shown this week on his home track when he lines up againstdefending senior champion Andrew Markman, from Mt Maunganui. Markman's consistency through the week has been a talking point. He, of course, has won three of the past four senior championships.
Alan Speeding, also from Mt Maunganui, meets Ken Barnett in the other second final after putting tournament top seed Peter Rankin out of business to make the semifinals yesterday.
The semifinals both tee off at 8.30am today under matchplay conditions.
The women had a rest day yesterday, but resume round three today with red hot pre-post favourite Ann Braithwaite leading the way.
