The group winning son of champion sire Volksraad, Little Wonder will begin his second season at stud in Waitotara near Wanganui this season.
The seven-year-old group winner is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first crop sired last year at his Taranaki base, but this season Regal Fern Lodge willoperate from Jackson Rd, Waitotara.
Little Wonder won six and was placed six times from the powerful McKee stable during his racing career, including the Gr3 Darley Plate and the Gr1 Windsor Park Stud Breeders' Stakes. He was also third to Bounding in the 2014 Gr1 Sistema Railway Stakes. He won just over $200,000 in stakes.
The second season sire is well related by champion stallion Volksraad out of the Black Minnaloushe mare Shortblackmini. This makes Little Wonder a three-quarter brother to the mighty Sir Slick and a half brother to group-winning Amarula who is about to resume from Peter McKay's stable.
Regal Fern Lodge studmaster Rob Lewis said the stud had just relocated to South Taranaki after operating from Taranaki.
