SAM Russell completed the set of Wanganui Tennis Club junior championships with two Edmonds partners at the doubles and mixed doubles finals on Sunday.

A small field of competitive youngsters contested the finals, with the top seeds all coming through and being victorious in the end.

Already the secondary boys' singles champion, Russell teamed with Jaiden Edmonds to win the secondary boys' doubles, beating Jack O'Leary and Terrance Wright in the final 6-3 6-3.

Russell then joined up with Laura Edmonds to win the secondary mixed final against Bethany Farmer and Terrance Wright 6-1 6-3. The primary/intermediate and secondary doubles events were originally to be played the same time as the singles in late March, however, they were rescheduled to give players time to pick their partners.

Primary/intermediate girls' singles champion Brooke Pearce also made it a triple crown, first teaming with Stella Ridgway to win the girls' doubles title in the final with Skye Caseley and Kiana Akhuata 6-4 6-4.

The mixed doubles final was the closest of the day, going down to the wire with a third set super tiebreaker.

Pearce and Zach Farmer emerged victorious over Thomas Illiffe and Basia Sosnowska 2-6 6-4 10-4. The secondary girls' doubles and the primary/intermediate boys' doubles were not contested. The Wanganui Tennis Club prize giving evening will be on Friday, June 26, at the Bassett St clubrooms.
