Putting in the hard yards paid off for Whanganui bodybuilders competing in Palmerston North at the weekend posting three wins and a second.
Kirsty Harvey competed in the Senior Physique 40+ women and won her class, while Ali Richards claimed gold in the Senior Physique 50+ women and Thomas Tataurangiwon the Open Physique men Tall at the Nabba 2016 Manawatu-Wanganui Bodybuilding Championships.
Meanwhile, Daniel Foulkes finished second in the Novice Physique men Short.
Harvey, Richards and Tataurangi are members of the Revitalise Gym under the watchful eye of self-confessed camp mother and nutritionist Audrey O'Keefe.
"This was an excellent result, I'm a very proud mother," O'Keefe said yesterday.
"This is a sport that takes immense dedication and commitment over a long period. It impacts on everything they do, including family life. These guys live and breathe it . They are constantly eating clean and focusing totally on each competition as they arise," O'Keefe said.
