Whanganui teenager Tara Raj continues to belie her age and physical size, adding two more titles to her rapidly growing golf trophy cabinet.
The diminutive 13-year-old claimed both the Under-19 and Under-15 Manawatu-Wanganui Golf Association championship titles in dry, hot conditions at the Feilding Golf Club on Sunday.
The WanganuiGolf Club member Raj and clubmate Bradley Wallis relished the conditions. Raj shot 78 and 74 to finish 4 over in her two rounds. Her second round 74 was her second par round of the year following her 72 at Ngamotu (Taranaki U23s). The Wanganui Collegiate student's scores won her the U15 and U19 titles and the Eagles Trophy, finishing 12 shots ahead of Palmerston Golf Club's Katherine Paskins.
Wallis, having just completed his studies at Wanganui Collegiate, compiled scores of 73 and 76, finishing second behind Feilding's Liam Finlayson.
