The Revitalise Health and Fitness Centre team of Sasha Crafar and Audrey O'Keefe have a big second half of 2015 ahead of them, culminating in the Nabba International Universe Championships in the Philippines in November.
Crafar will enter the novice figure short while O'Keefe takes part in figure 40+ atthe championships, being held in the island province of Cebu.
Alison Richards, physique 50+ winner at the recent Christchurch Classic, had also qualified for the Philippines but won't be attending, while O'Keefe said their gym mate Kirsty Harvey was "taking one for the team" by staying behind to run Revitalise.
"It's going to be a complete eye opener. It's the universal champs so you expect it to be a very high-skilled field," O'Keefe said.
"Even though it's 12 weeks away, we're starting now."
Dieting will be crucial for the pair, especially as they won't be able to take specific foods into the Philippines, while they will have to adjust to competing over three days, November 14 then 16, rather than the standard afternoon and evening sessions on the same day at events back home.
"Trying to keep your peak body for a day is bad enough."
Preparations will include entering the upcoming Wellington championships, and then the nationals in October.
