The return to racing by two very classy greyhounds highlights this evening's racing action at Hatrick Raceway.

Kilchurn was an enforced late scratching in last month's $100,000 NZ Cup final.

This Glen Hodgson trained winner of 16 of his 20 races has drawn to gain some moderate compensation from the ace trap here.

The Race 9 event also sees the return of the talented chaser Really Clever from the powerful Lisa Ahern kennels.

It's great to see this winner of 22 from 37 races being back on the track. He will improve on whatever he does during his fresh-up outing here.

Another in this event who own stakes-earning claims is Smash Allegro who returns to racing on this track for Ahern after a couple of luckless Manawatu races. He is more that capable of being able to contest the early pace here.

It is a field that is dominated by Ahern-mentored greyhounds with the strong finishing Check The Mail capable of sneaking onto the podium, along with Ritza Danny, who was denied clear early racing room in last week's big ticket Spion Rose Cup final.

The guarantee $10,000 TAB Triple Trio continues during this meeting over Races 6-8.

In Race 6, Bolt Allegro has drawn to swoop, while the nicely-drawn Semantics and the proven Stiff Drink hold stakes earning claims.

Also consider the downgrading Sheik Em Up in this 305m dash.

The second leg is a tricky-looking 305m sprint which includes a couple of downgrading open class sprinters.

That means both Shaga Banga Bang and Super Zip Zip are required inclusions.

Vision And Power has drawn to feature from trap one here, while Kazillion, Ya Laughin' and Ledfoot Lenny are proven competitive sprinters around this circuit.

The final leg can see the locally trained Trident break through for a deserved win following some bold recent seconds.

Air Raid was gunned down over the concluding stages when racing over 520m last Friday. A similar on the pace effort can be expected again from him.

Big Red Chev was backed to win plenty last Friday and he duly obliged, the step up in class he faces here shouldn't overly faze him.

Killer Lyon flew home late from a long way back over the 520m trip on Friday, while the stakes claims that Lochinvar Maui owns in this event cannot be lightly dismissed.
