Manawatu-Wanganui's strong run in the Women's Toro Interprovincials hit a roadblock yesterday morning in the form of a North Harbour team who inflicted a 5-0 loss in the fifth round of matchups in Ashburton.
Wanganui Golf Club's 12-year-old prospect Tara Raj was beaten in the battles of the No3 playersby Krystal Hu 4/3.
There were similar stories up and down the card with No1 player Maraea Durie losing to Vyan Park 7/6, Leanne Brown to Ela Grimwood 4/3, Katherine Paskins to Shani White 6/5, and Tania Hook to Vaha Fapiano 5/3.
At press time, Manawatu-Wanganui was in another tough matchup with Bay of Plenty for Round 6, although Raj appeared to be in a strong position in her game.
