Ten of Whanganui's 15 entrants received medals at the 2016 Central Districts Taekwondo championships at Springvale Stadium on Sunday.
Around 99 fighters from five clubs took part in the various disciplines, which included sparring, performing set patterns, power (breaking boards) and specialist techniques such as high kicks.
Whanganui's Dion Wahrenhad the best day, finishing first overall among the blue belt class fighters.
Double medallists were Josie Kawana (silver in sparring, bronze in patterns), Cody Olsen (silver power, bronze sparring) and Jake Simcox (bronze sparring and power).
Other silver medallists were Tania Gilmore and Isiah Webster for sparring.
Other fighters came from Waikanae, Levin, Palmerston North and Hastings.
Levin's Salton Taekwondo club, under Master Andrew Salton, claimed the Salton Shield, which bears his name, for the best overall points tally from all their representatives.
