A decade of on-field involvement has developed into a new off-field role for Wanganui footballer Kylie Mackenzie.
Mackenzie has been appointed operations manager for Central Football, a job created just this year. She begins her new role on Monday next week.
"I'm really looking forward to the challenge and workingwith so many football faces within the city," MacKenzie said.
"I understand that there will be a few challenges, but I think that is what is most exciting about the role and to have an opportunity to work in football is great ... "
Mackenzie has been involved in football for most of her life. After playing for the Wanganui City Football Club for the past 10 seasons she brings a great understanding of the game to the new job.
Mackenzie also brings with her an administration background from her time as president at Eastside Play Centre and also having gained a Certificate in Business Administration through BR Training.
Central Football chief executive officer John McGifford is delighted with the appointment of Mackenzie, feeling her knowledge for the game and Wanganui will be a great asset to Central Football.
"We are pleased to appoint a current Wanganui resident to the role of operations manager and delighted that Kylie has agreed to take up that position ... we know she will be a valuable addition to the team at Central Football."
