It has been a busy week to kick off the New Year for the Wanganui Club with this evening's meeting being the third of 2013.

The first leg of tonight's Quaddie has an extremely even look to it. Any of the sprinters engaged in the race-nine field could win it without surprising.

Locally trained sprinters could quite easily feature here.

Glenaddis holds the ace card after being allocated the one trap to exit from. She closed off her sprint last Friday with a strong-finishing three-quarter-length second.

Sassafras has been sighted finishing down the outer lately, so exiting from the seven here is likely to assist her.

Kennelmate Okuku Wee Man has been recently hinting that another win isn't far away, while Direct Response led into the home straight before being run down last time.

Chainsaw Pete made effective use of the one trap to win a 305m sprint on Monday.

He draws the same trap in the second Quaddie leg, this time over 520m. He is strong enough to capitalise on that opportunity.

This is the type of field in which Barry's Way can make his presence felt, while last Friday's winner, Thanks Charlie, won well enough to include again.

And treat the fresh-up Missing Melody as the potential bolter, especially as she will enjoy exiting from the eight-trap here.

Run Lacey Run landed her first open-class win last week and she can nail another in the Quaddie third leg.

Opawa Sacha has won all three of her races from the one-trap and she draws that trap here.

Cool Charmer is a lid pinger, who can lead throughout by using that asset, and treat the returning Enflame here with respect.

The potential Quaddie anchor looms in the final leg where the slick Complicit is likely to extend his winning streak on this track.

If he does make a mistake, then perhaps the nicely drawn Enzuma or the number eight sprinter Cawbourne Tank could capitalise.

And just a note about next Friday's meeting at Hatrick, which starts at noon.

The meeting will be hosted by the Wellington Club as it builds towards its January 25 Wellington Cup meeting.
