Veteran Whanganui greyhound trainer Freddy Kite will be seeking to upstage the sharp Subic Bay from the strong Lisa Ahern kennels with his own in-form sprinter Sedgebrook Babe during this evening open class 305m sprint at Hatrick.

Kite has trained Sedgebrook Bade to four consecutive wins and he will load his charge away into the ace-trap for this evening's assignment (Race 4).

She delivered the meet-best 305m time last Friday when dashing to her 17.33s win.Subic Bay, who next weekend in Auckland will be crowned the 2015/16 NZ Sprinter of the Year (up to 399m), will step from trap-eight here.

He clocked 17.44s when taking out his 305m dash last Friday. This evening's racing potentially looms as a successful meeting for the Kite family.

Kite has also been treated kindly by the box-draw allocation as he will also load away litter and kennelmate Sedgebrook Magic in the one-trap for the last race 305m sprint.

His current form indicates that he holds strong winning claims in that dash.Daughter Wendy Kite has a couple of other members from the same litter engaged.

She prepares Funky Freddy, who takes on dad's charge in the last race, after winning over 305m here two races ago.

A race earlier, Wendy would have paraded One Broke Girl to the 305m traps.

Her claims in this dash will come down to the race start, where she must step away smartly from trap-six.

Completing the family representation during the meeting will be another daughter Suzie Kite, who will place her greyhound Making Time (racing in partnership with her partner Brian Marsh) into the one trap for the Race 7, C3 520m event.

Her greyhound is proven from that trap and the ability of being able to strongly race on-the-pace can see her being rewarded here.

The open-class 520m event (Race 10) looks likely to be dominated by Ahern-prepared greyhounds.

Included is Monday's strong Manawatu 457m winner Sheer Miss, who secures the draw advantage here after being provided with trap-one to step from.

Kennelmates Timma Turtle, along with Absinthe Minded and Our Gypsy are both capable of being able to sniff out a portion of the stake in this event.
