The Cook Islands have named a team full of homegrown talent for their three T20 matches in Rotorua this weekend.
The Rotorua cricket community will be treated to an international fixture when the Cook Islands walk out onto Smallbone Park today and tomorrow.
It has been 20 years since Rotorualast hosted an international cricket match - which was played between the Australian and Indian women's teams in 1995.
The Cook Islands team will play two T20 matches against a Rotorua representative side tomorrow at Smallbone Park, at 11.30am and 2.45pm. The Rotorua team is made up of the best club cricketers in the area.
The Cook Islands team will also play a warm-up T20 match against a Rotorua reserve team today at 4pm at the same venue.
The bulk of the visiting team live and play their cricket in Rarotonga. Only four players in the Cook Islands team live outside the island nation, including three from New Zealand and one from Australia.
They are currently building up to their T20 World Cup qualifiers in Brisbane.
